Summary

Duties include mechanical machinery design, including new machines and modifications of existing designs, using 3D design software such as Inventor, as well as Vault software. Design, detailing and checking is required. Part and BOM creation within the ERP system is required. Drawing packages are released to the Job Coordinator. Designers are expected to collaborate with production supervisors for optimum design, in consideration of cost of manufacturing, and ease of build. They are expected to follow the designs through production, correcting non-conformances.

  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure understanding of requirements and specifications.
  • Use of Fundamental Principles of Engineering and Engineering Methods. Prepare calculations prior to drawing.
  • Collaborate with Electrical Engineering on motor load requirements, as well as other electrical devices to be incorporated into machine design.
  • Collaborate with Production supervisors and Divisional Lead Design, on best possible designs for ease of manufacturing and to minimize costs, while maintaining design integrity to meet requirements.
  • CAD design including 3D concept designs and detailing, existing machine design modifications, and possibly 2D cad designs. Assembly Drawing creation, including ballooning.
  • Follow Engineering and company procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with and obtain quotes from Suppliers on part selection for best lead time and cost factors and ensure technical suitability.
  • Part and BOM creation within ERP system.
  • Drawing updates and corrections(Non-conformance)

Competencies

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience, or Associates Degree in Mechanical Design with at least 6 years of machine design experience

Summary 
The position is responsible for connecting machine electrical devices, such as motors, sensors, etc.  Wiring also includes terminating wires in control panels to the terminal strips according to wire numbers, as shown on the drawings.  Their duties may also include installing raceways such as wireway, ladder tray, and other raceways to hold the cables.  

Essential Functions 

  • Wire devices on machines according to documentation and/or instruction. 
  • Use hand and power tools to install raceways, and other devices on machines 
  • Install wires into terminal strips properly and label wires 
  • Works individually or part of the team to successfully complete projects. 
  • May work in mechanical assembly roles as needed.

Summary 

Glassline Corporation’s Purchasing Manager is responsible for the purchasing function of the Corporation. He/she is responsible for the purchasing staff, setting the purchasing process standards, evaluating suppliers, reporting/advising other staff, Divisions, and departments on the purchasing process, managing purchased part inventory, developing strategies to optimize cost and reduce risk, negotiate contracts, and maintain records.   

Essential Functions 

  • Develop/enhance the company’s procurement standards, and ensure compliance. 
  • Oversee the work of Purchasing Clerks and also prepare purchase orders as needed. 
  • Work with Engineering to confirm part specifications, drawings, and other part requirements. 
  • Work with Operations and other Staff to confirm and coordinate scheduling requirements, and identify delivery delays/problems proactively in support of schedules. 
  • Coordinate with vendors, confirming any purchase order discrepancies, delivery dates, and handling vendor returns.  
  • Evaluate Suppliers. Support vendor relations, gather price data, negotiate pricing, negotiate and determine best shipping method for price/delivery concerns. 
  • Proactively pursue cost or lead time reduction by researching for alternative parts, manufacturers or suppliers. 
  • Ensure that all purchasing data is maintained within the ERP system, so that job reporting and tracking is accurate. 
  • Work with Inventory/Warehouse as needed to maintain and adjust appropriate stock and reorder levels. 

 Competencies 

  • Contract negotiation experience or similar 
  • Evidential knowledge or education in Inventory management.

Summary 

The Machine Assembly position is responsible for the building of Glassline Corp. machinery of various types.  These may be glass processing machines, food processing machines, or packaging machines, depending on the Division that requires the work. Machine assembly requires reading of blueprints, organizing of parts, and assembling parts onto the machines according to the blueprints.  Basic mechanic knowledge is required, to select proper tools, hardware, fasteners, threadlock, etc. Many of this knowledge can be trained. Capable assemblers would be tasked with precision alignment, using indicators, as required for the machine.  Additional tasks for assembly include pneumatic/water plumbing and electrical wiring as per the individual’s capabilities.  Assemblers often assist with the installation of the machines at the Customer site.   

Essential Functions 

  • Assemble machine frames together, and assemble parts onto machine frames according to blueprints. 
  • Ensure parts are well aligned, and properly secured.  
  • Assemble machinery pneumatic parts, plumbing and electrical knowledge. 
  • Assemble raceways onto machine as per prints or direction. 
  • Wire machinery devices to control panels according to schematics 
  • Enter labor hours according to procedures.

Summary 

A Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the Quality Process within Glassline Corporation.  This includes: ensuring that the quality tools are of the correct type and sufficient quality, quality-checking of the goods produced or procured to verify that they are up to the company’s standards, maintaining NCM records, and making recommendations for systematic changes for the purpose of improving quality. They are concerned with both the quality standards outlined by the organization and general industry standards. They are entrusted by the company to help create a quality system that will produce a consistent flow of high quality products for the company, thereby reducing rework and assembly time, for improved costs.  The QA Specialist will ensure Divisional and Departmental supervisors understand the expectations required for quality assurance.  
 

Essential Functions 

  • Establish inspection tool certification process, maintain records, make new tool recommendations if necessary, and maintain tool inventory. 
  • Records number and types of defect noticed or encountered while sampling some products 
  • Performs regular quality check on the incoming goods to ensure they are what that is required 
  • Recommends outright rejection of goods or products that fall short of the standards of the organization or quality control regulatory body. Final determination by others. 
  • Keeps record of inspections for future reference 
  • Works with blueprints and plans to know how the needed quality could be accomplished. 
  • Maintain the Non-Conformance Procedure in JobBOSS². 
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and work instructions, as applicable.

The essential functions of a General Laborer/Clean Up include applying coatings using various
systems or tools, operating or coating equipment, preparing surfaces for application, spraying with
consistent mileage, and interpreting blueprints or drawings. Some training with the heavy equipment,
grinding tools, and power tools that you use during this process.

Load and unload the blast cabinet
Remove dirt, grease and other builtup material from surfaces
